Roger Cook, 70 years, The Old House Star, Breathed His Last, May Be From Parkinson

On August 21, 2024, at the age of 70, renowned gardener and landscaper Roger Cook—who gained notoriety for his role in The Old House—passed died following a protracted illness.

The Old House star’s illness is not well understood, despite the fact that his family was present to support him during his quiet and dignified death. There is no proof, but many people think it might have been Parkinson’s disease.

According to his relatives, he has had a difficult time and faced many challenges in his later years. Roger was able to accept it, nevertheless, as time passed.

Roger Cook, Might Suffering From Parkinson,  Appeared less on TV Shows 

Roger Cook indicated on social media in June 2018 that he would be appearing less frequently on The Old House due to a reduction in his involvement on the program. He exposed that his primary motivation to do this was to spend more time with his family.
He also mentioned “Some viewers may have noticed that over the last season, I haven’t been myself.”

 Actually, I’ve been battling a few health problems that have made it harder for me to perform on television. I’ve made the decision to step down from The Old House as a result in order to devote more time to my family and my health. He disclosed his illness, so he was unable to participate in the TV program.

Even though Roger admitted that it had been difficult for him to work, he continued to appear occasionally so as not to let his audience down. But by 2020, he was forced to leave the show since his health had gotten to a dangerous level.

The disease’s name would never be made public by Roger, his family, or himself. Online debates, however, have caused a number of people to speculate that it might have been Parkinson’s disease; some have even speculated that it might have been cancer.

  • 1982 saw Roger Cook make his TV debut. From 1988 until 2020, he was a cast member of The Old House. He has also made appearances on other programs, such as Inside This Old House and Ask This Old House. 
  • Cook had two children with Kathleen Cook, whom he tragically died to cancer on December 1, 2010. Cook also had three grandchildren. 
  • In 1977, Roger Cook graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management and Conservation Law.
