It is a ONE-TIME assistance payment for people FACING HARDSHIP due to Covid-19 effects and supports LOW-INCOME GROUPS. A total of 236,287 households are eligible to receive the $600. A household could be an individual or a family.

Income Tax Slabs:

Generally, the Income Tax Credits a FEDERAL AND STATE TAX CREDITS earned when people file their income tax. For example, a household that has earned $27,380 is eligible to get $1,502 to answer What Is the Earned Income Tax Credit, a household earning $48,108 will get back $3,618 in credits, a household with an income of $53,865 can get $5,980, and a household earning $57,414 can get back $6,728 Income Tax Credits.

Mode of payments:

The amount will be sent as direct deposits and check payments to all households by 1st July 2022. A total amount of $141,772,200 will be distributed among 236,287 eligible households. Out of this amount, $81,984,000 will be sent as direct deposits to 136,640 eligible households, and an amount of $59,788,200 will be sent as paper checks to 99,647 eligible households.

The Oregon Legislature had passed House Bill 4157, which directs the revenue department to pay $600 to 236,287 qualified households. The eligibility criteria are also recognized and mentioned clearly. 

Eligibility: 

To qualify, a household must be living in Oregon for the last six months of 2020, and such households should have earned Income Tax Credits in 2020 if they had filed income tax. However, it is also known that many households are not eligible to receive the credits as they do not file income tax. 

Written W-2 form:

All employees who have earned some form of Income Tax Credit Earned Oregon should inform their employer about the credits received in writing.
