I am a Senior citizen and purchased a Gold Medal Plugged-In 4×4 4 Socket Extension Board White, Red on 8th May 2021 from FilpKart.
On 18th June 2021 – just 40 days later – two switches are not working !!!
I wrote to Gold Medal and was informed the following:
“As per company policy curve plus range has 1 year replacement warranty on manufacturing defects from date of purchase mentioned on bill, and seller will provide replacement.
If the seller is Goldmedal then you will have to email us the actual product image, Original Bill image, and contact details so our team can guide you further. But if seller is not Goldmedal then you will need to ask Flipkart to provide seller details and ask seller to provide in warranty replacement.”
I asked Flipkart for the Invoice and they sent it to me. I sent the invoice to Gold Medal and Gold Medal informed me the following:
“Tech Connect Retail Private Limited is not an Authorised seller of Goldmedal Electricals Pvt. Ltd. You will have to coordinate with Tech Connect Retail Private Limited and ask then replace it.”
I searched the internet for Tech Connect Retail Private Limited, but could not find any address or phone number or email address. So, I am unable to contact Tech Connect Retail Private Limited and ask them to get a replacement from Gold Medal for this Extension board that is in the Warranty period
I have contacted FlipKart too but despite repeated attempts and reminders, FlipKart has not sent me this Sellers address, contact number or email address.
So, my question is:
WHY does Flipkart use UNAUTHORISED SELLERS ?
Why doesn’t FlipKart do due diligence with regard to the Sellers it uses?
Why doesn’t FlipKart make it mandatory for Sellers to give Warranty details that the manufacturer gives with it’s products?
Why should the Customer suffer and lose benefits that are his/hers solely because FlipKart is remiss in it’s obligation to ensure
only Authorized Sellers are taken on and Sellers are made to mandatorily provide all/any Warranties/Guarantees that are part of the product sold.
